18th. Century Campaign/Traveling Iron Chandelier

An 18th C New England Traveling Chandelier. One use of this type of light was in the tents for Military Personel as it breaks down into 5 pieces for travel. It may also have been simply a traveling light. You often had to take light with you when you traveled. From my research pieces such as this are quite difficult to find. . FABULOUS piece of early lighting. The arms are tenoned into the base, Wonderful iron work with the round ball decorations and great detailed bobeches. The hook has a wonderful rat tail at the top. From a private collection and purchased in Vermont years ago. No apologies on this great chandelier , there is surface rust but no issues as far as structure of the piece. The chandelier measures 22.5” high, arm length is 10.3″, height of arms 7″, overall width 20″ ,candle bobeche 3.5″, 1.2″ candle cup width

Date: 1770-1810
Condition: -Very good , no issues with construction , no repairs or issues that I detect. There is surface rust.

Civil War Field Box w/ Slide Out Wood Writing Tablet

Civil War field box. It is constructed with square nails and is in it’s original surface. The box has small snipe hinges. It measures 12″ long x 6″ wide x 5 1/4″ high. There is a slide out wood writing tablet with a great little carved design on the end, with a nice darkened patina from the fingers of those who pulled it out over the years. It can be completely pulled out of the box. The writing tablet has a small latch that holds it in place when closed. The cartouche on the front of the box has the name G. W. Witherell. George W. Witherell was born in 1845 and discharged in 1865. I am including older copies (not originals) of his discharge paper, obituary and birth record.

Single Wedding Band Hogscraper candlestick, 18th. century

A lovely hogscraper, wedding band candle stick made of iron. This stick is a bit unusual and earlier than most. The construction and design have a collar the riveted to the base rather than having the preened bolt. The candle stick is American and dates to the late 18th. century. the candlestick is in excellent condition and shows appropriate wear. It measures 7″ tall and is 4 3/4″ diameter at the base. The pushup works and the hogscraper has its chair hook.

Paint Decorated Inkwell

Presenting an early PAINT DECORATED INK WELL. The ink well has a most wonderful shapely form that indents with inscribed lines that encircle the middle and a rolled rim base. The surface is covered in an original black and perhaps mustard worn grain painted decoration with a beautiful naturally aged smooth patina. Four hand painted delicate green flowers encircle the middle. In the top center is a permanent glass inkwell surrounded by four holes for quill pens (Peacock feathers included). Tin Candle Lantern

A nice 19th. century tin candle lantern. The lantern has original black paint and is size 1. Several of the panel s have the original wavy glass. One panel has a small chip on the corner of the pane. The height of the lantern measures 11 1/2″ by 4″ square. The candle holder is cleated through the bottom of the lantern.

A nice, sound late 19th – early 20th century bowl in the best blue paint. Blue milk paint over oyster paint that is most likely original to the bowl. The bowl has shrinkage that you would expect. A very nice bittersweet painted Dough bowl. The bowl is in excellent condition and the paint may not be from the period the bowl was made has the best patina and has been there for a very, very long time.. The dough bowl has a nice warp to it, no crack and good wear. The diameter of the bowl is 16 one way 15 1/4 the other way and about 4 1/2 inches tall.

A very nice vintage calico prairie blouse. This blouse is machine treadle stitched and is lined with stays on the inside. The blouse has great style, full sleeves and bodice. Please note the bit of bleach touched the edge of the bottom of the blouse. The blouse closure is done with eyes and hooks.

Iron Country Wall Candle Light/Sconce

A very nice wall/sconce/candle light. This light is unusual in that it does not have a spike for the wall. Rather the arm extends back to a shaped iron bracket that can be screwed right into the wall or attached to a piece of wood and hung on the wall. The candle light is very well shaped. The arm extends out about 8 inches. Notice that the candle cup is preened into the drip tray. Great patina on this iron sconce. It will be a lovely addition to you country home.

A stunning, vibrant painting by English artist Thirkell Pearce. A young girl in a garden is the subject. Her face is angelic and the artistry and use of color give the painting an angelic visual. The painting is done of board. There are some scratches and a line or smear at the top of the painting, see photo. This painting was displayed in 1929 at the Royal Cambrian Academy, 18 Clarendon ,Putney. The painting measures 21 x 27 inches and with the frame it measures 25 !/2 x 30 1/2 inches. A beautiful 19th. century trivet with fabulous penny feet and a marvelous heart shaped center design. The trivet is actually a heart within a heart–so beautiful. The trivet measures 7 1/4 x 7 1/4 inches across the feet and it stands 1 3/4″ tall. The trivet has a totally original surface and is circa early 1800’s. The trivet is of Pennsylvania origin.

A very striking cutlery box/table box. All original surface with great patina and wear. This beautiful cutlery box could quite possibly be Shaker in origin. It certainly has the features of the shape and use of copper tacks. The cutlery box measures 13 x 8 1/2 x 3 inches. The only point of note is the slight splinter on the one corner, see photo. It looks like this area of the box met with some moisture at some time.

I don’t even know where to start with this wonderful piece of history. This is a paper covered (blue paper covers on front and back). The back has the authors initials MHT and dated ‘57. The book measures 13 x 8 inches. At the very back of the book is the table of contents and it lists 197 pages of mathematical information following the Single Rule of Three. the book is entirely hand written. It looks like pencil was used in the first part of the book and ink in the back half of the book.

Here is some history on the Single Rule of Three. The Rule of Three is an ancient mechanical method for solving proportions, which we can do fairly easily (and with more understanding) using algebra. In the history of transmission of mathematical ideas, the Rule of Three forms an interesting case. It was known in China as early as the first century AD. Indian texts dwell on it from the fifth century onwards. It was introduced into the Islamic world in about the eighth century. Renaissance Europe hailed it as the Golden Rule. The importance of the rule lies not so much in the subtlety of its theory as in the simple process of solving problems. This process consists of writing down the three given terms in a linear sequence (A -> B -> C) and then, proceeding in the reverse direction, multiplying the last term with the middle form and dividing their product by the first term (C x B : A). With this rule one can easily solve several types of problems even without a knowledge of the general theory of proportion.

This book is one years work by a young man named Michael H. Trone. He lived in Manheim Twp., York Country, Pa. he was born in Aug. 1841 and passed in April 1915. The book is so unusual and extensive in both information and calligraphy design.

The book takes you thru numerous Mathematical examples of using the Single Rule of Three. It shows examples of Multiplication, Division, Compound Interest, The Millers Rule, Interest, Discount, Equation, Barter, Loss and Gain, relationship of vulgar, reduction of vulgar, addition of fractions, multiplication of fractions, division of fractions, the rule of three in addition decimals, decimal fractions, subtraction of decimals, multiplication of decimals, division of decimals, reduction of decimals, square root, multiplication of the square roots of heights, ellipsis of regular polyons, spheres, carpenters and joiners, masons and brick layers work, proportion between similar surface and solids, motion, hydrostatics, gravity. On the first page Michael H. Trone started his effort on Dec. 8 1857 and On page 171 he states “Michael H. Trone March 1858 I have finished” the calligraphy is outstanding–much of the writing I cannot read but the table of contents at the end of the book take you thru every subject in the book. It is both art work and genius. All of the examples deal with the local life that Michael knew, farm, merchant, labor etc. This is priceless. Price: Sale Pending

Rare “Anchovies” Salt Glazed Stoneware, Cobalt Jar

A rare form of stoneware . This cobalt blue, stoneware jar is circa 1820’s or so. It sports the greatest label “Anchovis” There is also a cobalt blue band above the lettering. The cobalt lettering reads “ANCHOVIS”–that is right, there is no E. I don’t know why, it isn’t there and never has been. Perhaps that was a form of the word in the early 1800’s, or just a mistake. The jar is in great condition and has no cracks or hairlines. There are two small flea bites on the rim (1/8″) and a small mark on the letter I. This jar is quite unusual and you will not see many around. Possibly from the east coast, which really makes a lot of sense.. It measures 6.5″ tall, 4″ diameter at the mouth. $695.00

A wonderful Folk Art delight is this fabulous EARLY Santos in original painted case. The overall look of this piece is so very special. The Santos is quite possibly 18th. century. All original paint with a wonderful surface. The Santos measures 12″ tall. Please look at the photos of the back of the Santos. You will see repair to the wings. I believe the wings were one carved piece at one time. They were broken and attached separately as you see them now. This certainly happened a very long time ago. The case is fabulous both in design and painted surface. The case measures 20 1/2 x 12 x 8 1/2″. There is a ridge for glass but the glass is missing. I also believe there was some adornment at the top of the case at one time. Even though time has ravaged both the Santos and the case they are stunning, time worn and filled with beauty.Price: $850.00

A very nice, early twine, yarn, string winder. This winder has the best surface on it. The paint is a dark putty color with the age you just love to see. Country Primitive Chestnut Wood Drainboard, paint

A very unusual piece of primitive Americana, a chestnut wood drainboard. This drainboard was much used, loved and cared for to last for so many years. Most likely from the last quarter of the 19th. century this piece would have seen duty 24/7/365. It was made to last and take the abuse of years of water and wash. Made of hard, hard chestnut, before the blight–many coats of protective paint thru the years give so much character to the piece. It is actually in very good condition. The only real problem area is right at the drip edge where you can see wear. The board is extremely heavy and it measures 24 x 18 x 2 inches. Such a fine primitive, country piece. It would look great stacked with treen.

A beautiful antique yelloware lamb mold. I just love the way this particular mold sets. The lambs face is facing you. Usually you see them with the lamb looking to the side. 18th. century treen herb mortar/ hewn bowl

A wonderful, early mid to late 18th. century treen mortar. Before the common use of the mortar and pestle mortar bowls with handles were extensively used for chopping and cutting herbs, roots or spices etc. This wonderful piece of treen is hand hewn from one piece of wood. It is made of American native maple with some tiger striping thru it. Most likely from New England, circa 1670-1700’s’ a useful daily tool. It measures 14 inches in diameter and 20 1/2 inches if you include the handle. The bowl set about 4 inches tall. This piece has years and years of wear and great surface. Please note that there are several hairlines around the rim. No of them are extensive nor do they impact the integrity of the bowl. The bowl could be used in exactly the same way as it was used over 200 years ago. This piece came from a Pilgrim era collector in Ct.

A wonderful early 19th. century hand-forged blacksmith made game rack. Special detail was given this lovely rack, from all of the pinned connecting hooks to the wonderful display of beautiful birds across the top of the rack. This is a wonderful CHILD’S WHEELBARROW that boasts a refreshing sign of spring! The wheelbarrow is all wood with an early iron wheel. It is painted in an old soft shade of mustard yellow that has mellowed with the passing of time. Bearing witness to its many years of age and use is a glued slat that was repaired long ago and a slight lean to one side. The wheelbarrow is a delightful size measuring approximately 43” long, 13 ½” wide and 12” tall. A very nice mid 19th. century small table cupboard. Of course this cupboard could also be hung. The surface of the cupboard has nice, early graining. The overall color is or a dark, dark cranberry with the combing being a shade of black. The cupboard has a great early form and construction with the doors being mortised and pegged

. I believe it is made from pine wood and quite possibly has a replaced inside shelf. It measures a sweet 17 5/8 x 15 5/8 x 8 1/8″ deep. Great for your pepper pots and salts.

This is a fabulous SIGNED AND DATED TABLE TOP IMMIGRANT BOX. Measuring 13 ¼ – 13 ¾” long, 7 ¼ – 9” wide and 11” tall, the box is a rare smaller sized model of a full size immigrant chest. The domed lid, chunky square nails, and wide dovetails testify to its early construction. Most desirable is the original red paint with visible signs of desired age appropriate wear (Please note the sliver of wood missing near the bottom on the left side of the back.). 19th. century Theorem of Doves, watercolor attributed to Emma Cady

Emma Jane Cady, 1854-1933 is known for her outstanding theorem paintings, of particular note are her theorems of doves. This watercolor theorem was found in Michigan and is attributed to Emma Cady. Emma worked her theorems well past the time that theorems were popular. Her work was done in watercolor on paper and not on velvet as most commonly done. she is known for her wonderful compote’s but also two versions of doves sitting on a branch. She used a stippled effect as seen on part of the branch. Her family migrated from Connecticut to Columbia County, New York, in the mid-eighteenth century. Her father, Norman J. Cady, was a farmer, and she herself was remembered by surviving acquaintances to have loved outdoor work, though census records list her occupation as “housework.” Cady never married, and after her parents’ deaths she moved first to the home of a nephew and then, about 1920, to Grass Lake, Michigan, where she lived with her sister and her sister’s family until her death in 1933. This wonderful theorem does show some foxing around the edges and across the bottom. The overall size of the frame and theorem are 14 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches. This is a wonderful piece of American Folk Art. Price: $795.00

19th. Century Loom Light with button/hole adjustment trammel

A very nice, hand wrought trammel light. A 19th. century loom light that raises up and down with a button/hole mechanism. Similar to the trammel tooth this light adjusts by fitting a small button into a series of holes that are available to raise or lower the length of the light. A beautiful worn and forged surface. The light measures 21 inches at its shortest and 29 inches at the longest.

Small Sized Oval Pantry Box, signed and dated

A very sweet small sized oval pantry box. The box is very well made and the top is signed and dated. It is signed J. E. Anable and daated 1826. It measures 5 1/4 x 3 3/4 x 2 inches. There is a light coat of varnish on the pantry box and please note the small piece that is missing on the rim of the lid. If you have a small stack going, this one would be a great base.

Dated 1827 German Catechism, Fabulous Heart Fraktur on the cover

I am so taken with this wonderful German Catechism. I have never seen one with a heart fraktur on both the front and back of this leather covered book. The fraktur is original to the catechism. If you look at the embossed designs on the black leather you will see the exact same designs on the hearts. The colors are so bright and beautiful. The heart on the back of the catechism has the bottom point missing. The book is in delicate condition mostly because the binding is weak. The book itself and pages are in very good to excellent condition. The catechism is dated 1827 on the inside front page. Please note that there was a locking mechanism at one time, it is missing. The catechism measures 7 x 4 x 1 1/2 inches. This book is a real treasure. SOLD

19th. Century Tin Sconces, pair, Fig Design

An absolutely wonderful pair of 19th. century tin sconces. The period of. around, 1880’s or so. This pair of tin sconces have great form and construction. A fabulous fig leaf design adorn the pair, that along with a beautiful crest make them very special. The candle cups are cleated into the drip pan, a nice early sign of sill, craftsmanship and age. Aged surface with a mild rusted surface. A most wonderful pair. They each measure 14 inches tall and 6 inches wide. These tin sconces hail from the east coast, most likely New Hampshire.

A very nice, early 1900″s blue dress. The dress has a lot of detail with raised collar, pleated bodice. It is in excellent condition and looks like it would be about a size 6 or so.

Signed and Dated Wallpaper Band Box

A very sweet wall paper band box. This one is extra special in that it is signed and dated.. The name is hard to read but the date is quite clear, 1843. This box has wonderful early 19th. century wall paper, the lid is stitched. The band box is marked both on the lid and bottom of box with a collection or museum code. The band box is identified as American, early 19th. century. A good size for your stack, it measures 9″ in diameter and stands 7″ tall. The condition is overall “good”, some minor staining but that is about it.

An absolute wonderful penny rug/tongue rug done in shades of grey, wool fabric. the overall effect is beautiful. Each tongue is edged with red yarn. In the center of the rug it is dated 1912. The rug is done on burlap. It is really in excellent clean condition except for a few minor age holes and some of the yarn around the edges is broken. A great piece of treen, sugar bowl. It measures about 5 1/3″ at the widest diameter and about 5″ tall. This lovely sugar bowl has traces of red wash left mostly around the bottom of the sugar. The condition is excellent with no cracks or damage. The lid has shrunk so that it fits best on way. The wood has become very light in weight over the years.

Early Tin and Glass Candle Lantern, 19th. century

Early Tin and glass candle lantern, from the 19th. century. There are 4 glass panes, possibly original but not wavy. Each side has criss-cross metal strips to protect the glass. The lantern has a wire bale handle, candle socket that is cleated thru the bottom. The lantern measures 5″ square and stands 11 1/2″ tall, 14 1/2″ to the top of the bale. The door opens with a sliding wired latch/hinge. An unusual feature of this lantern is that the top opens as well. It has the same sliding wire latch/hinge.

A most unusual country primitive strainer/drainer. This drainer is hand cut and made to serve as a strainer. The longer handles on either side allow you to set the strainer over a bowl or pot. The best finish and worn surface. The diameter of the drainer is 8 inches and the height is 4 inches. With both handles the overall size of the drainer is 13 3/4 inches. Great condition with original surface.

This is the sweetest, small size breadboard. Would fit into any kitchen or on any sized dining table. The breadboard measures 14 inches long and this include the handle, 6 1/4 inches wide and about 1/2 inch thick. The greatest surface ever, bright blue paint. A wonderful mid 19th. century paint decorated chest. This chest has an original surface red, sponged with black paint. A most unusual piece. This antique dish rack has a great country look and yet is totally usable. Old with great used surface. You can see how the water has colored the wood. Dowels hold up the plate to drain. You could also use this as a storage dish rack. The rack measures 8 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches tall. You certainly don’t see these too often. I purchased this rack at the tailgate in Nashville about 11 or 12 years ago.

A wonderful vintage dress. Brown and Red Calico dress, machine and hand stitched. The dress is from the very early 1900’s. The size is quite small, probably a 2-4. Notice the piping around the sleeves .The bodice is lined and the inside seams are hand stitched. Beautifully made with great detail. Fitted thru the back and beautiful buttons. Lapped fingers and copper tacks and the best robins egg blue paint make it the perfect piece for the top of the stack. The box came with a handwritten note indicating who the box came from. A most beautiful 1800’s redware plate decorated with a wonderful slip decorated design. The size is a great 11″–good size. The plate has a nice coggled edge all around. Good surface on the back. Absolute perfect redware plate from the mid 1800’s. The only apology for this piece could be a very small scrape on the outer rim, not even a chip—please see photo.

Pair of raised bottom Apothecary Jars with Tin Lids

This is an attractive PAIR OF 19^TH CENTURY APOTHECARY JARS WITH ORIGINAL TIN LIDS. The jars have been blown from the top with side shoulder seams, beautiful bubbles, and waves in the old glass. The “matching” tin lids have warm naturally aged patina. The mouths of the jars have rough rims with one tiny nick. Each measuring approximately 7 ½” tall, 5 ½” diameter, with 4” openings, this is a very attractive pair of 19^th century apothecary jars.

This is an unusual and finely constructed candle box. It has a sliding lid, dovetailed and wooden peg construction. The edge of the lid has a lip that is totally dovetailed into the remaining portion of the lid. The box measures 12 1/4 inch square and 4 3/4 inches tall. Fabulous early 1800’s Iron Candle Chandelier, decorated with leaf work

Offering this wonderful, hard to find iron candle chandelier. This piece is just wonderful. All iron, four candle cups with drip trays. Beautiful leaf decoration on the light. Please notice that there are 3 leaves enclosing the hanging hook on the top. There is a place for another leaf but I believe it was intentionally left off so it would be easier to hang and take down the light. The edge created where the leaf should have been is smooth, smooth. If a leaf had broken off it would be rough there. It actually adds that extra bit of country charm that so many of these old pieces have. There is a iron loop at the bottom of the light to hang the snuf. The chandelier measures 13 wide, 13 tall and the long rod measures 31″. You don’t have to use the rod, it comes off if you should prefer chain. The rod itself is a masterwork.

This is a magnificent EARLY MINIATURE BOX in original untouched condition measuring 4 ½” long, 3 ½” wide, and 2 ½” tall. The box exhibits the most extraordinary early craftsmanship as it has been artistically carved from one piece of wood. The front is decorated with a beautiful hand carved PINEAPPLE representative of a Pennsylvania WELCOME symbol. The walls are an amazing ¼”-½” thick and the interior depth is 1”. The ¼” thick overhanging lid is fastened with early snipe hinges. Perhaps presented as a gift, this proud artist carved his name into the bottom of his work B. SANDOYAL.

A super painted wall box, candle box. Original surface. The original hanging hole is worn but still useable. Please notice that there is a crack across the back right under the hanging hole. Can easily and safely hung with those small saw tooth hangers. The surface is the best, untouched a deep, deep oxidized red. The box measures 13″ x 6″ x 5 1/2″ tall.

Betty Lamp with Heart Shaped Knob: A wonderful, early betty lamp with a most unusual and desirable heart shaped knob. The lamp measures 4 1/2 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches long and 3 inches at the widest point. The hook measures another 4 inches so the height of the entire light with hook is about 8 1/2 inches. A most unusual tin candle lantern. This lantern is from the early 19th. century. Made of tin, with 4 glass panels. An unusual smoke bell on the top, in that it is a double smoke bell. Usually there is only one. The candle socket is cleated thru the bottom of the lantern. You usually see this feature in earlier lighting. This lantern has an unusual drip pan on the base as well and, most unusual, ventilation holes on the bottom of the lantern. The lantern has its original wire loop bale handle. The lantern measures 9″ tall and 4″ square.

A RARE PA. GERMAN CHIP CARVED GRAIN BOX, CHESTNUT WOOD, pre 1800’s.
This is a Pennsylvania German ,Chip Carved ” Grain Box”, “Seed Box” . It is a very unusual piece of Americana. It is designed and has the same scaled down shape and proportions as the Main Gathering Building at the Ephrata Cloisters , In Ephrata ,Pennsylvania ,the location of a Historic Religious Sect. Dating from the 1700’s, this grain box is well used, but is structurally sound. You’ll see added pieces of Wood here and there ,and an extra nail or two . But given the age of this wonderful piece of history and the fact that is was used in such a utilitarian way for several hundred years—it is actually in marvelous condition. It has a small ,hand sized door opening that lifts up. It is just large enough to put your than in or a small scoop. The Metal banding is all original . The Chip Carving all around the box is of Sunflowers ,and is priceless !!! It measures 15 1/2″ across the front x 11 1/2″ wide and is 17″ high to the Peak. Please look at all the photos. This is an opportunity to procure a wonderful piece of history and folk art.

American Folk Art Model of a Boat/Steamship

A wonderful AMERICAN FOLK ART MODEL of a BOAT (STEAMSHIP). The detailed construction of the model includes a carved wood body, single wooden stack, cloth (canvas-like) port holes, finishing nails and old string railing, and original paint decoration. The old and original paint decoration identifies the ship as the 550 with a black bottom, blue body, black deck and oyster white bridge. This wall shelf, large sconce shelf is just a wonderful country primitive. First the size is extraordinary. It measures25 inches tall, 21 inches wide and about 7 1/2 inches deep. So much larger than you normally see. The size gives it such a presence. Then there is the surface, it is dry and all original what looks like an oxidized grey or dark putty paint with what appears to be red underneath. Square nail construction. Just simply an unusual and great antique shelf.

Graduated Set of Three Treen Herb Bowls

It’s hard-to-find even a single herb bowl, let alone a GRADUATED SET OF THREE HERB BOWLS. These bowls were used in the 19^th century in individual households and apothecary shops for mixing herb powders that were prescribed in recipes for home remedies and medicinal purposes. Each carved bowl has a beautifully formed detachable handle that fastens to the side of the bowl on a hand turned wooden dowel. The wood has a naturally rich and warm patina from over one hundred years of use. Measuring 3 ¼”, 4” and 4 ½” in diameter and 1 ¾”tall with a 3 ½” long handle, this graduated set of herb bowls is an exemplary piece of 19^th century treenware.

Small Sized Treen Trencher in the best Chrome Yellow Paint

This trencher has so many things going for it. It is a smaller, desirable and harder to find size, measuring only 18 inches wide, 9 inches deep and 4 inches tall. the paint is the other fabulous feature of this trencher. Chrome Yellow is not very often seen. The paint is just as you would like to see in a trencher dating to the 1870’s. The wear both to the paint and usable interior of the trencher is fabulous, showing great patina and wear. There are no cracks nor damage to the trencher. It has double handles which add extra style to the general look of the trencher. This trencher will not disappoint. Found in Pa.

This is a fabulous, early candle spike. It is completely decorated with leaves and has the most fabulous green and salmon paint. It is in excellent condition and is most likely from the early 1800’s or perhaps even the late 1700’s. It measures about 11 inches long.

This is a fabulous, young adult, calico capelet, cape. The condition and structure of this cape is outstanding. Brown calico on the outside and a blue chintz like material in navy blue on the inside. I do believe this cape is completely hand stitched. And the stitching is a work of art. Just beautiful in construction and design. It measures 22 inches wide at the widest point across the back. The length is 19 inches down the back. It wouldn’t surprise me if this wasn’t a Shaker piece. I say this because of the stitching, I have never seen such fine hand stitching. If you like antique, country garb, you will treasure this piece.

This EARLY DOUGH BOWL or TRENCHER in ORIGINAL PAINT is simply magnificent! Measuring approximately 25 1/2” in length, 16” wide and 6” tall, it is HUGE! This is a great looking apothecary/side stand in wonderful, original blue-grey paint. The size and shape of these drawers make it suitable as an apothecary or you could actually use it as a side stand or table stand. It measures 10 1/2″ wide, 13″ deep, and 28″ high. I love the paint and surface on this apothecary. Another great feature are the large mushroom shaped knobs. The stand has 7 graduated sized drawers. I believe this stand was built into something at one time. The left side had no paint, I added paint to the left side. There was also a chunk of wood out of the top and I filled the missing space. All in all this piece has the best surface, look and usefulness. HOLD

Just the sweetest miniature pantry box, oval in shape with one finger on the base and one on the lid. The construction is of wooden pegs and small copper nails, all present. Large, 1800’s tin pushup candle stick–dovetailed construction

This is an exceptional dovetailed push up candle stick on stout base. The width of the base makes it nearly impossible for this light to tip over. Notice the beautiful dovetailed tin joining on the cone base. It is made of tin and is 9 3/4″ tall with a 6″ base. The first and second levels are rolled tin with hammered edge. The push lever works properly and it is in good working condition.

Antique Diminutive Tin Biscuit/Dough board with rolling pin

I love these tin dough boards with rolling pin trays and always purchase them when I can. This one is most unusual, it is biscuit board –very diminutive in size, measuring only 11 3/4 inches wide and 14 1/2 inches long. It is less than half the size of the regular dough boards of this style. This is the first one I have ever seen of this size. The biscuit board is in excellent condition, has two loops on the sides for hanging and of course the curved ledge for the rolling pin. The patina on this board is just excellent and aged well. This is the best penny rug, most unusual and different because it is made of lighter wool materials without the use of heavy wool or felt materials. There are some missing stitches, nothing that harms the mat in any way. The colors are great, the rug is clean and it is all hand stitched. The penny rug measures about 28″ all ways. The penny rug is from the late 1800’s, a fine example from that time period.

Fabulous tin bird roaster, hearth reflector type. Handmade, late 18th. century or early 19th. century. This type of roaster sat on the hearth and was used for roasting small birds, quails or pigeons or very small birds e.g. bob whites. This roaster has 6 hooks and a nice deep drip pan below the hooks to catch any drippings while the birds were roaster. There is a large curved handle on the back for lifting or moving the roaster. The roaster is in excellent condition. A wonderful diminutive sized roaster, just perfect for any hearth. There are no known repairs or damage and shows only expected wear. The roaster measures 11″ wide, 9″ tall and 4″ deep. $295.00 + shipping
