You don’t come across early labeled firkins very often. This one happens to be an outstanding example of one. It is a pristine piece in every way, from the construction to the paint. The firkin is profusely decorated with black painted scroll design. Labeled on the front and back C.TARTAR. The writing on the back is faded. The lid is initialed J.C.L and the lid is also impressed with J. Proctor Waterford ME. Overall condition of the firkin and the paint is excellent. The quality of this piece is worthy of a museum and would be a highlight of any personal collection. It is a large piece measuring 13 inches tall. The diameter across the top is 13 1/4 inches and the diameter across the bottom is 14 inches. Great oxidation under the lid. Price: $2795.00 + shipping

I update my merchandise on a regular basis but my big updates are around the end of every month. At that time I send out a slideshow featuring all of my new items. If you would like to receive the slideshow, send me an email and I will add your email address to the release. People on my email release get first peek at all the new monthly items before my ad comes out in the Maine Antique Digest. Most of the inventory I carry is 19th., 18th., and some 17th. century country primitives in original surface. I am an artist and I feature some of my original works on the site as well. I will work with you in any way possible to make your visit and your purchases as pleasant and satisfying as possible.
