Up for sale is a jaw dropping full size mallet or early squat cylinder wine/liquor/rum aka generic utility bottle dating to the mid 18th century – I would say squarely between 1740 and 1750. It’s free blown with no mold seams. It’s a very deep olive-amber / black glass color. It has a heavy applied string rim/bladed collar just below the plain slightly flared lip and a kicked-up base with a wide sand pontil scar. It’s about 9 1/2″ tall and it’s a bit less than in 4″ diameter. It’s got a really appealing late mallet/transitional squat cylinder proportion with its wide body, nice straight sides, sharp shoulder, and squat narrow neck. The bottle is in outstanding condition. I just love the shape of this bottle. Price: $550.00 + shipping

I update my merchandise on a regular basis but my big updates are around the end of every month. At that time I send out a slideshow featuring all of my new items. If you would like to receive the slideshow, send me an email and I will add your email address to the release. People on my email release get first peek at all the new monthly items before my ad comes out in the Maine Antique Digest. Most of the inventory I carry is 19th., 18th., and some 17th. century country primitives in original surface. I am an artist and I feature some of my original works on the site as well. I will work with you in any way possible to make your visit and your purchases as pleasant and satisfying as possible.
