Offering this early, 18th. century retractable floor light with wooden, 3 legged base. Ex Susan MacKay, a wonderful piece of country lighting. This light has truly country, primitive qualities and the authenticity one would expect from such an early floor light. A wrought iron retractable arm hold a candle cup that can be extended to the desired distance. Notice the bit of whimsy that is added to the iron where it turns off the arm into the iron part of the shaft. The iron light is attached to a wooden hand planed shaft that is mortised thru a three legged wooden base. Some shrinkage around the shaft where it is mortised into the base, this shrinkage allows the shaft to move a bit, but to no harm. The base measures 14 x 9 x 7 and the overall height of the light is 27 inches. Price: sold
