A wonderful example of a late 18th. century, treen table light. This is an American, treen table light made of Chestnut wood. The overall condition of the light is excellent but it does exhibit a surface that indicates more than 200 years of service and use. The wedge that holds the light in place is pretty much frozen in that position. I imagine it could be loosened but I did not attempt to do that. If you notice the side of the arm with the candle has a tin candle base, that base is worn and some of the tin has worn away thru use and years. The overall size of the light is 18 1/4 inches and the candle arm measures 7 inches and the base measures 7 x 6 x 2. A lovely piece of early American lighting that come with exception provenance.
