19th. century, Blue Painted, Oval Travel Case

18TH CENTURY TRAVELING BRIDE’S BOX WITH ITS ORIGINAL PAINTED SURFACE, LATCH AND CARRYING HANDLE.
CIRCA 1730-1780 IN NATIVE PINE. AH is carved on the lid.
A VERY RARE EARLY 18TH CENTURY EXAMPLE THAT IS UNTOUCHED
IT WAS MADE AS A TRAVELING BOX OR HAT BOX IN THE EARLY TO MID 18TH CENTURY.
THIS ONE IS MADE OF PINE WOOD.
IT HAS A TOP CARRYING HANDLE AS WELL AS A SWING FRONT LATCH AND HASP. THERE ARE METAL STRAPS SECURING THE BOTTOM TO THE SIDES OF THE BOX FOR EXTRA STRENGTH.
ALL THE IRON IS ORIGINAL AND THE LOCK IS A WORKING LOCK.
THE SURFACE IS ALL ORIGINAL AND COMPLETELY UNTOUCHED.
THE BOX IS TIGHT AND DISPLAYS WELL. CIRCA 1730-1780 . IT MEASURES 18 x 14 x 7 1/2 inches. price: sold
