This box is spectacular. The size is grand, it measures 17 3/4 x 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches. The box has a lidded top connected with dowel pin hinges. Below the lidded opening there are two drawers. The top drawers had dividers at one time and was most likely used for spices. The drawer under that one is just an open box for storage. The wall box has its original red painted surface. The paint is worn, and reveals the character and age of the box. I would date the box to the very early 19th. century. It is dated on the back 1848. Please notice that the two knobs on the drawer have some chips. The backboard has a lovely crest, there is wear and a crack around the hanging hole. Square nailed construction. This box has great presence. Price: sold

I update my merchandise on a regular basis but my big updates are around the end of every month. At that time I send out a slideshow featuring all of my new items. If you would like to receive the slideshow, send me an email and I will add your email address to the release. People on my email release get first peek at all the new monthly items before my ad comes out in the Maine Antique Digest. Most of the inventory I carry is 19th., 18th., and some 17th. century country primitives in original surface. I am an artist and I feature some of my original works on the site as well. I will work with you in any way possible to make your visit and your purchases as pleasant and satisfying as possible.
