19th. century, Painted Wall Box

I really like this wall box. I was attracted by the shape–it is so simple in style. It definitely has a good early 19th. century look. Circa 1840 give or take a few years on either side. The box is square nail constructed. The paint is original and is a lovely, dry, medium green that can have some blue casts. I particularly like the back board. The proportions of the back board to the well itself give the box a charming, simple design. The condition is very good and measures 14 3/4 x 6 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches. American, New England wall box.
