This is such an unusual and extraordinary pair of Ladies Pockets. Late 18th. century, circa 1760 or so. Made of finely quilted silk/satin backed with linen/cotton. Completely hand stitched , most likely with silk thread. A single pocket of this age is a great find but having a pair is really extraordinary. The aged colors of the silk are outstanding. Each pocket measures 16 x 12 inches. The pockets are in excellent condition for their age. One pocket has more wear and tear than the other, see photos. The brown waist strings are original but shortened thru use. These pockets come with wonderful provenance which will be given to the new owner of this fabulous pair. I want to keep these together if possible so the price is for the pair.Comes with the original sale tag, hard to read but there there is a signature on it . Price:sold

I update my merchandise on a regular basis but my big updates are around the end of every month. At that time I send out a slideshow featuring all of my new items. People on my email release get first peek at all the new monthly items before my ad comes out in the Maine Antique Digest. Most of the inventory I carry is 19th., 18th., and some 17th. century country primitives in original surface. I am an artist and I feature some of my original works on the site as well.
