19th. century Blue Painted Sugar Box w/Cutter

I love my sugar boxes and this one is really a great one. The paint is original blue and well oxidized with age. The sugar box is unusual in that it actually has an removable, adjustable cutter. There are two different positions. The cutter is iron and sturdy enough to cut the sugar cones. The floor of the box is slatted so that the smaller pieces of sugar can fall into the drawer below. None was wasted. The sugar box measures 14 1/2 x 11 x 8 1/2 inches. This is a wonderful box in great condition. These are not seen too often, this one has lots of great features. Square nailed construction. Price: sold
