19th. century, Yellow Painted Slide Lid Candle Box

 Mid to late 19th. century, Folk Art Paint Decorated, Sliding Lid Candle Box, The candle box is decorated with strawberry fruit decoration and pinwheel style design and tulips on the sides. This is a lovely painted example. The Visible Nails are all Hand made and are Square. The Sliding Lid, fits well and slides easily. It measures 12″ long x 5 1/2″ high x 6″ wide. This piece presents itself beautifully. The paint does show wear and some loss but nothing that detracts from the beauty of this box. The box is dated under the lid 1881 an initialed SMD and dated on the bottom. Price: sold
