Small, Footed, Miniature Blanket Box

A wonderful, early 19th. century miniature blanket box. Purchased from a New England private collection, this sweet little blanket box/table box sits up on four tapered little feet. The lid is attached with its original snipe hinges and the box is constructed with hand forged nails. The wear is fabulous, even with it old little mouse chew on the left side of the box at the top. The surface is original made of Birch or Maple, with the top of the back what holds the hinges in Oak. Circa 1820 or so. The surface appears as it might have an Ochre painted film or wash. Looks great as part of a stack. The blanket box measures 11 1/4 x 6 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches. Price: $495.00 + shipping
