A strong looking pair of 18th century candlesticks. The candlesticks are made of tin. Note the crimped base on these candlesticks. The wooden bases are attached to the candlesticks using rose head nails. I believe this addition was made to add weight to the candlesticks to prevent them from tipping and are original to the pair. The crimped drip pans are of quite a nice size measuring (4 1/2″). The funneled stem adds to the overall simplicity and charm of this pair of candlesticks. Please note that one is a bit taller than the other. It is a little quirk but certainly adds charm to this lovely pair of country candlesticks. Please note that the base of one stick has some pin hole wear. The candlesticks measure 9 inches tall, the diameter of the base is 5 inches and the diameter of the drip trays measure 4 inches. American pair, all original, most likely New England. Price: sold
