Most Wonderful Late 18th. century Lamp Tidy

As tidy’s go, in my mind this one is a 9+. An outstanding example of an American lamp tidy. In my opinion the things that set this tidy apart from others is the fact that the form is pleasing, the tidy has its original red wash surface, good age–late 18th. to very early 19th. century, the fact that the platform on this piece has a gallery that has been notched out to hold a specific size betty lamp. The tidy measures 6 1/4 x 4″ (top diameter), 3 1/4″ (bottom diameter). A great example of an early American lighting accessory. Please note the age separations. The tidy is completely stable.
