An absolutely sweet, charming mid to late 18th. century painted table box with drawer. The box has its original dark Red paint, unusual three notch sliding lid on the top of the box. The box is constructed with wonderful Rose Head nails and the overall condition of the box is excellent. The box measures8 3/4 x 6 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. The box has an unusual form, sliding lid candle box on the top and drawer on the bottom. You will notice the small hole in the floor of the candle box portion. If you put a pencil or dowel into that hole it acts as a lock that makes it unable to open the drawer below. Such a primitive way to protect the contents. Price: sold

I update my merchandise on a regular basis but my big updates are around the end of every month. At that time I send out a slideshow featuring all of my new items. If you would like to receive the slideshow, send me an email and I will add your email address to the release. People on my email release get first peek at all the new monthly items before my ad comes out in the Maine Antique Digest. Most of the inventory I carry is 19th., 18th., and some 17th. century country primitives in original surface. I am an artist and I feature some of my original works on the site as well.
