I just can’t say enough about this box, truly a fine piece of American folk art . This dome top box is all original, the original Red painted surface is dry and beautifully aged. The box is not only paint decorated but detailed with symbolism. The top of the dome box is divided into four sections, each having a different painted motif. There is an Evergreen, a Bird (perhaps chicken), profile of a Man and in the last square the name William R. Pinnci. the front panel of the box is decorated with black airy designs. This box is truly a fantastic folk art statement. American folk art dome box. Square nailed construction, Pine wood box, hasp and front plate present. Clean and usable. Circa early to Mid 19th. century. The dome box measures 15 x 10 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches. Price: sold
