Fabulous Early 19th. century, Red Painted Table Light

An exceptional piece of Early 19th. century American lighting. This fabulous table light has many wonderful features. The size is stately for use on any table top. The light measures 28 inches tall overall, the swivel arm measures 12 3/4 x 3 inches and the base measures 8 inches square. The light retains much of its original Spanish Brown/Red painted surface. Quite a statement piece. The spiral shaft allows for the raising and lowering of the candle arm that supports two candles. The base is weighted proportionally to give the light the best look. At the top of the spiral shaft is a Brass (?) knob, not sure if that is original to the design of the light. Quite possible this light may date to the late 18th. century. Just a great piece of American, New England lighting. Price: $2695.00 + shipping
