19th. century Hanging Tin Pipe Box

AN EXTREMELY unusual EARLY 19TH CENTURY HANGING TIN PIPE BOX WITH A TOMBSTONE BACK CREST, AN EIGHT SLOT PIPE HOLDER AND ITS ORIGINAL BOTTOM SLANT LIDDED STORAGE BOX ALL IN TIN AND IN THE BEST OLD AND COMPLETELY UNTOUCHED ORIGINAL SURFACE AND PATINA.
Probably New England, Circa 1820-1840. IT CAME OUT OF THE HELEN MARLER COLLECTION IN PENNSYLVANIA. AN EXTREMELY RARE PIECE OF EARLY AMERICAN TINWARE. I owned this box about 7 years ago, had a chance to buy it back. I always say if you buy something more than once you must love it. THIS PIECE IS COMPLETELY ORIGINAL WITH ALL THE COMPONENT’S STILL INTACT, EVEN THE HINGED SLANT LID AND ITS LATCH. IT HAS AN EIGHT HOLE TOP. INCLUDED are the pipes in the rack and there are more in the well. The long pipe is not included. The condition is extremely nice. There are no repairs or restorations, only honest wear and tear and the very minor surface rust seen in the photos. 9 1/2″ tall at the back, it is 8 1/2″ wide and 4 1/2″ deep.
