This is an outstanding example of an 18th. century pipe box. The form is wonderful being narrow and tall. It measures 17 1/2 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches wide and 4 1/4 inches deep. The paint is a wonderful, dry, original red paint. The construction is with rosehead nails and using square nails on the back. The drawer is a primitive work of art being constructed with rosehead nails. The pipe box was originally purchased from North east Auction, Jerome Blum personal collection. Rested in personal collections since 2015 and comes with excellent provenance. Price: sold
