Amazing Early 19th. century Wooden Floor Light
A true country treasure, one of a kind American wooden floor light. This light has lots of country primitive character from the detailed carved shaft to the round disc base held up by four quirky feet, making the bottom of the light look like a foot stool. The wood is thick, dense and very heavy. Could possibly be Chestnut. The shaft is uniquely carved having an artistic twist as you proceed down the shaft. Double candle light raises and lowers of the carved shaft. Notice how the tin candle cups are sliced to fit the cross bar. This piece is secure, and built so that it would not tip no matter what. American lighting from the first quarter of the 19th. century. The floor light measures 31 inches tall and the diameter of the base is 12 inches. The candle bar measures 14 1/4 x 2 5/16 x 1 1/2 inches. Price: $1675.00 + shipping
