Early 19th. century, Blue Painted Betty Lamp Tidy

Just a beautiful lighting accessory. Lamp tidy’s are early treen implements that were used to elevate betty lamps for a better spray of the tiny light that the light produced. This tidy has wonderful form, it measures 6 3/4 inches tall and 3 1/8 diameter light surface and 3 1/4 inch diameter base. The tidy still retains much of its original blue paint. The tidy is in excellent condition. Circa late 18th. century to early 19th. century. Excellent provenance. That line you see across the top is not a crack, It is more like a age crackle because it is not visible going down the sides of the top of the tidy. Price: sold
