I love this early American form for a pipe box. This wall box has a nice deep well and a bar across the top with holes to hold pipes. I guess it could also hold spoons but I do believe the original intent was for pipes. The wall box is wonderful, having its original, dry painted surface in Red, the pipe rack is a bit off center that demonstrates the unique one of a kind nature of this piece. It was home made by some American homesteader who had the need. The wall box has a gently arched backboard with wonderful hanging hole that shows great wear. Square nailed, dry painted surface, just everything you could want in a good honest wall box. It measures 18 1/2 inches tall, 10 1/2 inches wide and about 3/4 inch thick. American, most likely New England and with Excellent provenance. Price $2295.00 + shipping
