This is a wonderful book stand. Circa 1790-1820, American and all original. The book stand is a nice smaller size. It measures 14 x 8 1/2 inches. The book stand has lovely cut out sides that give it a unique look. I believe the wood is Pine. An outstanding feature of this stand is, carved into the surface it reads “Andover Ma. 95”. I actually believe it reads S E Andover Ma. ’95. Constructed with square nails. American, New England book stand in very good condition. Andover was originally settled in 1636 under the Native American name of Cochichawicke, a local waterway. The community of Andover was incorporated in 1646 as the Town of Andover, named after a town in England where many of its settlers had come from. From the earliest days of the town, manufacturing has played a major part in its development.Price: $sold
