This is a fabulous floor light from the early part of the 19th. century, perhaps 1820 or so, it may even be earlier because of the use of some Rosehead nails. It is a ratchet type with a stable and wonderful X base. The ratchet raises and lowers depending on how high you want the light. It goes from 24 to 37 inches. It has an unusual piece of wood that levers the ratchet up or down. It is very secure and in good working order. the light is very stable with that X style base. The light bar holds two candles and the base measures 15 x 12 1/2 inches. The overall condition of the light is excellent given the age of the light. The light has been secured in several places throughout the years. You will see wonderful rose head nails that were used. American wooden floor light. Price: sold
