Absolutely cannot say enough about this wonderful piece of American lighting. This piece is made entirely of wood, from the three wooden feet, round wooden base, spiral cut shaft, lighting tray, two wooden hogscraper candlesticks that have wooden push ups and, if that isn’t enough, the best, dry original Bittersweet painted surface. The piece is a 10+. American, New England in origin. Of note is some chipping on the rim of one of the hogscrapers (see photo), there is some cloth on the underside of the tray and on the underside of the round base. The cloth has been placed there to secure the tightness of the candle tray and the shaft into the base. You would expect there to be shrinkage thru all the years–this easy trick fixes any loosness and it could be easily removed if desired, see photos. In addition to the beauty and functionality of this wonderful lighting piece it comes with the best possible provenance. Originally owned by David Good, and I purchased it from Doug Jackman and Steve Corrigan. If early American lighting appeals to you, this piece would be the crown of any collection. The overall height of the light is 33 inches tall. the tray measures 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches, the wooden hogscraper candle sticks measure 5 inches and the round base measures 12 inches in diameter. I understand the price of this floor light is more than my usual inventory–I paid dearly to own it. Should you have interest in this piece I would be more than agreeable to work with you on a lay a way that would suit you needs. Price: sold
