Everything about this bowl catches your eye because of its form, age, construction and surface. This bowl is beehive cut, it is formed so thin and lightweight–done by a true early American craftsman. Actually featherweight would be a more accurate term to describe how thin this bowl is formed. Fine beehive lines accentuate the wonderful original dry Red painted surface of the outside of the bowl. The bowl does have an artful warp, measures 11 1/4 x 11 1/2 inches and rises 3 1/2 inches to the rim. The patina on the inside of the bowl is dry, showing use but not damage. It is one of those fine early American antique bowls, that once you see it, it brings pleasure. This bowl comes with excellent provenance. Price: sold

I update my merchandise on a regular basis but my big updates are around the end of every month. At that time I send out a slideshow featuring all of my new items. If you would like to receive the slideshow, send me an email and I will add your email address to the release. People on my email release get first peek at all the new monthly items before my ad comes out in the Maine Antique Digest. Most of the inventory I carry is 19th., 18th., and some 17th. century country primitives in original surface. I am an artist and I feature some of my original works on the site as well. I will work with you in any way possible to make your visit and your purchases as pleasant and satisfying as possible.
