Fabulous, Late 18th/Early 19th. century Painted, Lollipop Top Wall Box

Just an outstanding American wall box from the late 18th. to early 19th. century. The wall box is loaded with character, from the huge lollipop hanger to the square nailed construction and fabulous original Pumpkin painted surface. Years of use are evidenced by the mellow hue to the Pumpkin paint, some breaks in the wood, there is an ancient small metal strap repair to the front left side of the box. Pure American, probably New England–truly a fine example of early American design and craftsmanship. The lollipop measures 6 1/4 x 7 inches. The overall size of the box is 10 3/4 x 5 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches. Price: sold
