This is the sweetest folk art collection of wedding memorabilia. The history of ” Ribbon Boys”, as far as I know, is from the 1940-1950 era. When someone got married the young boys of the family or friends were outfitted with these streamers of ribbons. The family that I purchased this from collected the ribbons and placed them in the old pincushion to which they are still attached. You can see the wedding bells that say Jerry and Janice. There are also table invitations attached as well as an elephant pin, and other souvenirs. the ribbons are about 20 inches long. A most unusual collection.
