I love this piece and have to say I have not seen another quite like it. This is a wooden, adjustable candlestand that raises up and down with a ratchet type design. The candle stand measures 21 1/2 to 29 inches. The top diameter measures 6 3/4 inches and the base measures 7 3/4 x 8 inches. The adjusting mechanism has shrunk thru the years and the square nail is used to make sure the position is secured. On the top you will find 4 holes, I am not certain what they were used for but I believe perhaps to hang betty lamps. This little piece is circa 19th. century and I believe it to be American. Such an unusual candle stand that fits in just about any location. Please notice the rosehead nails that are used in the construction. Price: sold

I update my merchandise on a regular basis but my big updates are around the end of every month. At that time I send out a slideshow featuring all of my new items. If you would like to receive the slideshow, send me an email and I will add your email address to the release. People on my email release get first peek at all the new monthly items before my ad comes out in the Maine Antique Digest. Most of the inventory I carry is 19th., 18th., and some 17th. century country primitives in original surface. I am an artist and I feature some of my original works on the site as well. I will work with you in any way possible to make your visit and your purchases as pleasant and satisfying as possible.
