This light ranks right up there in the class of the “best” wooden candle holders I have ever owned. This unique piece is constructed completely of wood, even the push up is wooden. The finger ring is wooden as is the shaft and base. The surface is original, the small size makes for an unusual and special appearance. This push up (hogscraper style) candle light measures only 5 1/4 inches tall and the diameter of the base is 4 1/8 inches. The condition of this light is exceptional. You will see that there is a crack in the base from shrinkage over the years but this crack is completely stable. American, New England pieces of this era and form are not only unusual but like “hens teeth” to come by. Provenance on this light is exceptional. Circa 1820-1850. Price: sold

I update my merchandise on a regular basis but my big updates are around the end of every month. At that time I send out a slideshow featuring all of my new items. If you would like to receive the slideshow, send me an email and I will add your email address to the release. People on my email release get first peek at all the new monthly items before my ad comes out in the Maine Antique Digest. Most of the inventory I carry is 19th., 18th., and some 17th. century country primitives in original surface. I am an artist and I feature some of my original works on the site as well. I will work with you in any way possible to make your visit and your purchases as pleasant and satisfying as possible.
