This is a very nice and quite unusual peg rack or crane. What is unusual is that the pegs run down both sides of the rack. The attribution of this piece may be Shaker. The design, construction and surface are so well done. The pegs are mortised into the bar. there are two original brackets that hold the rack itself and the surface of the rack has a buttery Pumpkin painted surface. There are 6 pegs. The condition is excellent. The rack measures 18 inches long and each peg measures about 4 1/2 inches. The brackets measure 8 x 4 inches. Circa mid 19th. century. sold

I update my merchandise on a regular basis but my big updates are around the end of every month. At that time I send out a slideshow featuring all of my new items. If you would like to receive the slideshow, send me an email and I will add your email address to the release. People on my email release get first peek at all the new monthly items before my ad comes out in the Maine Antique Digest. Most of the inventory I carry is 19th., 18th., and some 17th. century country primitives in original surface. I am an artist and I feature some of my original works on the site as well.
