I absolutely love sugar boxes and purchase them whenever I have the opportunity. This particular sugar box is just lovely and nicely constructed. The sugar box has its original painted black surface. Actually the paint is a black/gray, quite nice. The box has an iron cutter, there are holes in the bottom of the cutter floor that allows small pieces of sugar to drop into a drawer below. The sugar box case is dovetailed and so is the drawer. Circa mid 1900’s. Large sugar cones were cut into smaller pieces for use and stored in large sugar bowl from the period. This is a fine piece of history. The sugar box measures 15 1/2 x 11 x 10 inches. Quite a hefty piece with no issues. The box is American and most likely Southern. Price: $1095.00 + shipping

I update my merchandise on a regular basis but my big updates are around the end of every month. At that time I send out a slideshow featuring all of my new items. If you would like to receive the slideshow, send me an email and I will add your email address to the release. People on my email release get first peek at all the new monthly items before my ad comes out in the Maine Antique Digest. Most of the inventory I carry is 19th., 18th., and some 17th. century country primitives in original surface. I am an artist and I feature some of my original works on the site as well. I will work with you in any way possible to make your visit and your purchases as pleasant and satisfying as possible.
