Quite a few qualities on this sweet little dome top box, table box. Straight out of Pennsylvania and certainly decorated with Pa. motif. There is a portrait of a woman in period clothing centered between two hearts on the front of the box. On each side of the woman are Pa. decorated hearts—so folksy, charming and endearing. The box has it original surface all around, looks to be an original red that is line decorated on the domed lid. The inside of the box is lined with American newspaper and flyfot wallpaper. All hand forged nails and snipe hinges. Lined with wallpaper over newspaper dating to April 17th 1828.The box is in excellent condition and measures 11 x 6 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. A charming piece of American folk art. Circa early 19th. century. Please note that the half moon interior side piece is missing on the left side of the box. It doesn’t harm anything but it isn’t there. Price: sold
