A wonderful early 19th c. large tinsmith made birdcage. It is complete with the exception of the perch, not unexpected as perches were replaced as the became soiled or chewed too much. This cage is 26 1/2” to the top of the rolled tin carrying or hanging ring and is 13 1/2” in diameter. It was likely used to house a Cockatoo or Parrot or a bird of similar size. The birdcage was made by an expert tinsmith and dates from the early to mid-19th century and is American. It has a small, about 1” x 1/8” rust hold near the edge in the bottom and the vertical bar that the food holder plate is fastened to has come unsoldered. It stays in place but would be a simple fix to re-attach it. The wooden parrot is not included but is listed on this update. Price: $750.00 + shipping
