This is a very fine looking, c. 1850 round pantry box with original grain painted decoration in Mustard paint. This is possibly a Lancaster Co., Pa. piece as this style of grain painting is found on many utilitarian items from this area–e.g. buckets, firkins, salt boxes. All nails and pegs are present, and the paint is in excellent condition. The bottom has two exposed nails, but it is still tight. The lid fits snugly and has a few small rubs. It measures 9 1/2″ diameter and 5″ tall. It would be a stunning addition to a stack, but it is a great piece in its own right. The lid is original. I think the sides of the lid were just rubbed with white paint while the top of the lid was grain painted. This has been part of a CT collection. Price: $495.00 + shipping

I update my merchandise on a regular basis but my big updates are around the end of every month. At that time I send out a slideshow featuring all of my new items. If you would like to receive the slideshow, send me an email and I will add your email address to the release. People on my email release get first peek at all the new monthly items before my ad comes out in the Maine Antique Digest. Most of the inventory I carry is 19th., 18th., and some 17th. century country primitives in original surface. I am an artist and I feature some of my original works on the site as well. I will work with you in any way possible to make your visit and your purchases as pleasant and satisfying as possible.
