A wonderful contemporary Sailor’s Valentine housed in an authentic Victorian frame. This wonderful Sailor’s Valentine is constructed in the manner of the 19th. century love tokens. This piece was created by artist Joanne Getz. It represents 80 hours plus of design and shell work. A colorful array of shells are used to create the nautical theme of the valentine. The valentine is housed in a Victorian shadow box frame. The original gold papered surface of the background was saved and utilized in the valentines design. The gold peeks thru to add a richness to the shell work. The valentine is centered with an antique souvenir anchor from Michigan. Please note there is an old repair on the bottom right side of the frame. The valentine measures 19 inches wide by 6 inches deep. One of a kind. The first picture shows the valentine out of the frame, so there is no glare on the photo. In the second photo you can see it in the frame with the original red velvet going around the piece. This item requires USPS pack and ship.
